But who was this Saint George?
There was once a little place in Libya named Silene. And in Silene was a lake, where a terrible dragon hid. In order to keep the beast quiet, the people offered it a few sheep each day. But when the sheep ran out, it was the children's turn.
One day, the king's daughter had to be sacrificed to the dragon. But they hadn't counted on brave Saint George! The man arrived quickly on his wild white horse and severely wounded the dragon with his sword, 'Ascalon'.
You can certainly work out the rest of the story and the happy couple lived happily ever after…
Saint George is regularly described as the patron saint of travellers. He will definitely watch over you too during your stay at our little house.
